Calamus Root Essential Oil is a slightly viscous, pale yellow to brown liquid with a faintly sweet, waxy scent with a base note and medium aroma.
Also known as Sweet Flag, was well-known in Biblical times and mentioned in Exodus 30: 22-25 as one of the ingredients of the holy anointing oil. In Ayurvedic tradition, where it is known as Vacha, it is still used as an aphrodisiac.
The health benefits of Calamus Essential Oil can be attributed to its properties as an anti-rheumatic, anti-spasmodic, antibiotic, cephalic, circulatory, memory boosting, nervine, stimulant, and tranquilizing substance.

Blends With: Lavender, Tea Tree, Rosemary, Clary Sage, Geranium and Marjoram.
Cautions: Dilute before use with a carrier oil such as almond, jojoba or olive, or your preference, for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals, a skin test is recommended prior to use. Avoid contact with eyes.
