Lavender Flower Buds botanical name Lavandula angustifolia commonly know as True Lavender or English lavender even though it is not native to England. This lavender has a blue - purple color and a sharp piney lavender scent. Great for cooking or to infuse oil for lavender oil.
These lavender flowers have a strong sweet aroma obtained from a semi-woody plant that typically grows to 1.5-3’ narrow, gray-green leaves (to 2 1/2” long) on square stems. Purple flowers appear at the ending spikes in late spring to early summer.
Uses: Lavender flowers and leaves are used as:
an herbal medicine as in oil
or tea,
for making soap,
infusing oils,
making potpourri,
or sachet bags for bath
or lavender sleep bags
and dream pillows.
